The Equinox has long been one of the most popular vehicles on our lot, and the 2027 model makes it easy to see why. Chevy gave this compact SUV a head-to-toe redesign in 2026, and the result is a vehicle that looks more expensive than it is — which is exactly the kind of value we like to pass along to our customers.
Let’s get into it.
Styling first, because it’s the first thing you’ll notice. The new Equinox wears a bolder, more upright front end and cleaner body lines that give it real presence in the parking lot. It looks like a shrunken-down Tahoe or Blazer, and we mean that as a compliment.
Step inside and the star of the show is the technology. The 2027 Equinox comes with an 11.3-inch color touchscreen — one of the largest in its class — running wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s crisp, responsive, and easy to learn, whether you’re a longtime smartphone user or someone who just wants the map and the radio to work without a fuss.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 175 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available — a smart choice for Hoosiers who deal with all four seasons. Front-drive models return an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, so you’re getting efficiency along with the extra room.
And there is extra room. The Equinox seats five comfortably and offers just under 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to more than 63 cubic feet with the seats folded. That’s genuine family-hauling, road-trip-packing capability.
Safety is standard, not an upsell. Every 2027 Equinox includes Chevy Safety Assist, with automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, and a following distance indicator built right in. You can add features like rear cross traffic alert and blind zone alert as you move up through the LT, RS, and ACTIV trims.
Starting around $28,800, the Equinox lands in that reasonable middle ground where a lot of Bloomington families shop. It’s roomy enough to grow into, affordable enough to feel good about, and backed by the kind of service you’ll only get from a hometown dealer.
Come see the redesign in person. We think the photos don’t quite do it justice.
